Location: Worcester, WR1

Job purpose

To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the employer

Our client is a 26-year-old female living in Worcester who is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide support with daily living tasks and social support for 6 hours per week.

Client has diagnosed physical and mental health conditions.

Main duties

Social duties:

  • Accessing the community and public transport to attend the supermarket
  • Accessing services and organisations in the community when needed.
  • Support with correspondence and completing paperwork, booking/ managing and attending appointments.

Personal care:

  • Support to ensure safety when showering- the client can shower independently.
  • Support to ensure safety due to POTS (this can be monitored from outside the bathroom).

Domestic Duties:

Support with batch cooking and light domestic chores, support at allotment plot when necessary.

Type of person that you/they are looking for

  • Values: Someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel and understands equality & diversity.
  • Specific requirements: Someone with knowledge and understanding of mental health diagnoses, neurodivergence, some understanding of restricted eating/disordered eating would be beneficial. Experience in trauma informed approaches.
  • Other: Due to the nature of this role including personal care the potential employer will be considering female applicants only.

Hours of work: 6 hours per week - 2 hours per day Monday, Wednesday & Friday 11am – 1pm or 12pm – 2pm

Rate of pay: £13.01 per hour

Skills, qualifications, and experience

Essential:

  • Knowledge and understanding of mental health diagnoses.
  • Knowledge and understanding of neurodivergence.
  • Some understanding of restricted eating/disordered eating would be beneficial.
  • Experience In trauma informed approaches.
  • Patient, kind and reliable.
  • Driver, if possible, to support with grocery shops.
  • Someone who can build a professional relationship.

Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.

This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
