Location: Nunthorpe

Job purpose

To assist with a variety of tasks which will enable the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.

About the employer

Our client is a 37-year-old female living in the Nunthorpe area who is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide social and domestic support for 3 hour per week which will be split into 3 1-hour visits.

Main duties

Social duties:

  • keep in touch and socialise with family and friends.
  • Support to attend medical appointments if required.
  • provide support & motivation to build up to leaving the house.
  • Provide support & encouragement to start walking short distances.

Domestic duties:

  • Cooking
  • Cleaning
  • Laundry

Type of person that you/they are looking for

  • Values: Someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel, understands equality & diversity.
  • Specific requirements: : someone with previous care & support experience. Someone with experience of supporting individuals with Autism & Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME).
  • Other: Due to the nature of this role including possible medical care the potential employer will be considering female applicants only.

Hours of work: 3 hours per week - 3 x 1 hour visits per week

Rate of pay: £10.42 per hour

Skills, qualifications, and experience

Essential:

  • Previous care & support experience
  • Confidentiality
  • Good at building relationships
  • Must like dogs as there is a dog in the home.

Preferred:

  • Driving licence
  • Good communicator
  • A good listener
  • Ability to support people with complex care & support needs
